In order to grab major portion of market share in small and medium business(SMBs) segment in Chandigarh, Dell India Private Ltd has enhanced its focus on SMBs. The company is rolling out custom-made product, 24 x 7 support, sales and service facility and also building tailor-made product to SMBs.

Chandigarh currently has close to 20,000 small and medium businesses and total ICT (Information and Communication Technology) spend by medium businesses is $15.1 million, making it a lucrative market for Dell in India.

"E-governance, defence purchase, investment of Punjab telecom circle are making Chandigarh one of the major IT spending cities in North India. Dell as an IT partner is equipped to address customer pain points and resolve problems, allowing them to focus on their business needs,” said Avik Rudra, senior product consultant, APJ Enterprise Product Management, SMB, Dell India.

“We bring the combined force of our own initial public offerings and the partner ecosystem of open platforms that allows customer to apply technology in heterogeneous environments, without getting locked into proprietary systems", he added.

Addressing the mid-market opportunity, Rudra further added, "Mid-market customers have been under-served by traditional IT companies, and yet they represent the fastest growing segment and Dell’s greatest opportunity for growth and profitability today."

Responding to SMB customer needs, Dell has launched a host of SMB-specific products like Vostro V131 laptop and range of new Dell EqualLogic storage solutions and supporting software to help customers address the data management requirements of increasingly dynamic, virtualised data centres.
