Educomp Solutions, a premium education company in association with IT majors Intel and Microsoft, held an educator seminar for school principals at Hansol, Ahmedabad.

The company showcased a technology solution called 'Smart_Class', which is an internationally acclaimed digital learning program.

Through the joint initiative, Educomp, Microsoft and Intel plan to bring large number of schools into the digital earning age where students are able to learn in a multi sensory mode and thus achieve higher academic performances.

The Smart_Class program for digitising classrooms is being offered through a BOOT (build own operate and transfer) system in which Educomp would install the entire technology infrastructure and provide digital content library to the schools along with in-campus training of teachers and maintenance support.

This digital content library will allow teachers to use content as core part of the curriculum transaction process inside each classroom. With Educomp's K12 content, teachers will be able to use digital resources such a graphics, animators, 3 D Images and Video Clips in addition to current methods.

"The Indian education sector is one of the largest in the world with over a million schools and over 220 million learners yet less than 2 per cent of our classrooms are digitally enabled. This technology shift is necessary if we have to build on our traditional competencies for the knowledge economy of the future, " said Shantanu Prakash, managing director, Educomp Solutions.
