Ericsson today emerged as the lowest bidder for BSNL's tender for 45.5 million lines at an estimated investment of over Rs 20,000 crore.When contacted, an Ericsson official confirmed the development but said that the evaluation process was on and BSNL is yet to announce the final decision.The other bidders are Nokia, Motorola, ZTE and Siemens for what is said to be the biggest-ever tender floated by any telecom company. The actual tender was for 60 million lines, but an order for 15 million lines has been placed with ITI-Alcatel joint venture in the reserved quota for a PSU.According to the tender conditions, two bidders would be selected.
