This entrepreneur, who loves playing a good game of bridge with his wife or catch a movie on weekends, will turn 50 this year and maintains: "I'm high on life." No, he's not a beer baron or a tycoon but a salaried professional-turned entrepreneur. Like most fathers, he would be "delighted" if his kids (currently studying in the US) decide to contribute to his business.

Aditya Gupta gave in to the desire of having a business of his own but not before he had put in 15 years at International Computers Ltd (ICL). "The work experience at ICL was the biggest advantage I had in my hands," says Gupta, "and I knew that I could go back to it if the business did not work out well."

When InfoVision was born in 1991, Gupta was aware of the fact that he was treading unknown markets. He knew that setting up a CRM company in the 90s " a sector that was unheard of in India " will not be a cakewalk.

The big break came when international clients turned towards InfoVision in 1995. "I would say that from 2000 onwards, we were finally on a solid footing in the business." The company achieved 50 per cent growth rates and soon was Rs 100-crore strong.

The company, today, boasts of offices in Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bangalore with the headquarters in Gurgaon, Haryana. "The magical number for InfoVision is to touch the Rs 200 crore mark and I'm driving my team to achieve this target by next financial year," he details. He also intends to grow the current headcount of 3600 employees by 75 per cent " steadily.

Among the clutter of the existing BPO industry, InfoVision differentiates itself by labeling itself as a Customer-centric Process Outsourcing (CPO) company. Gupta believes he can put aside "career introspection for a few more years".
