Security at banks in Ludhiana could become tighter, with Mumbai-headquartered firm Micro Technologies' latest product Micro Secure-Bank Black Box (SBB), the first ever wireless product for the Indian banking system, hitting the market. |
The product can provide security not only on the bank premises, but also at standalone ATM sites; with retail banking being the next big thrust area for the Indian banking industry and ATM penetration on the verge of explosion. |

Speaking at the launch, P Sekhar, CMD, Micro Technologies (India) Limited said, " We have developed this unique product specific to the banking industry as our feedback suggested that physical security which banks currently use could be enhanced from its present level. Micro SBB uses high-end wireless technology to create an intelligent and interactive security and safety solution at the bank premises. The product can be custom made to individual needs of the banks and we hope that it becomes a Life Support System for the bank management. As a product company we feel proud to have come up with such an innovative product, the international patent for which is pending." |

The company is already in talks with leading PSU, Co-operative, Private and Foreign banks for installing Micro SBB at various bank locations. The company is targeting installing the products at the bank premises as also standalone ATM sites, which are the most vulnerable. |

The key advantages of the product is that it is for the first time that such an innovative way of securing the premises has been launched which gives restricted access to the premises, has lower downtime and faster response time. |

Also, with the use of wireless technology, the product operates in simple as well as Cryptic modes of operation. Also, it allows data accessed to be viewed both on the client side application as well as web-based interactions. |

Explaining the functioning of Micro SBB, Sekhar said that the Remote Keyless Entry Module consisting of a set of wireless receiver/transmitter pairs that operates the mechanism on the basis of a press of a button. The button press causes a signal to be sent matching the frequency of the receiver. |

``The Numeric keypad involves a keystroke mechanism that serves as a simple keying-interface. The user needs to key in a code that is being associated to the particular access area. The system recognises the code and operates the Electronic Switching System. The GSM based system utilizes a set of commands sent to the system in the form of SMS Text to perform the given Mechanical action .The system always recognises the SIM Card Number of the user as the authentic one and responds only to its SMS. The Swipe Card System uses a set of RFID Tags in the Form of a swap card and a RFID Reader slot. The RFID Tag contains a RFID Chip that contains a Cryptic code that is difficult to conjure / decipher. Only the Swap Card Reader is able to get sense of the code. Access Control System abets attendance monitoring of individual employees as well as entry/exit of visitors/customers. It also helps maintaining logs of the above-mentioned details.'' |
