Genpact, India’s largest business process outsourcing (BPO) company, has signed an agreement to acquire Cincinnati (the US)-based Triumph Engineering for an undisclosed amount.
This is the BPO major’s third acquisition this year, after its acquisition of European firm Accounting Plaza and India-based Atyati Technologies.
Triumph, which has offices in Cincinnati and Baltimore, provides engineering and technical services to aviation, energy and oil & gas industries. The acquisition is expected to expand Genpact’s services portfolio for the infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, especially in the large- and high-growth segments of engineering and technical services, the company said in a statement.

Tiger Tyagarajan, president and chief executive, Genpact, said, “We are seeing huge demand for engineering services in technology-intensive industries like aviation, energy and oil & gas. This acquisition would allow us to combine Triumph’s onsite expertise and depth in engineering with our global scale, end-to-end process management, analytics, and technology capabilities to meet this growing demand.”
As part of the deal, 90 Triumph employees would come under Genpact’s fold and work for the company’s infrastructure, manufacturing and services (IMS) vertical. Genpact’s IMS vertical provides finance and accounting, supply chain management, procurement and after-market services.
“Our plan is to build engineering centres of excellence, with an initial focus on the aviation and energy sectors. We could later expand this to cover other manufacturing segments,” Tyagarajan added.
