The Ahmedabad-based Growth Compusoft Exports Ltd, a 15-year old Information Technology company, has bagged orders worth Rs 75,000 from Hindustan Petroleum (HP) and Rs 80,000 from University of Rajasthan for providing automated library management software. |
The company is also finalising a Rs 2 lakh order from University of Rajasthan for a complete data entry solution and undertaking the automation of its library. |

Ashok Jain, business manager, software division, Growth Compusoft Exports Ltd said, "We are working for HP and have recently installed a library management software there. HP has four to five libraries across India and at present, our company is working its Mumbai and Pune libraries." |

The ISO 9002 company has recorded a turnover of Rs 2.5 crore in 2004-05 fiscal and expects a turnover of Rs 3.5 crore in next fiscal, informed Jain. |

Jain said he was upbeat about the libraray managment software market in the state. According to him, the market has grown in the last two years as lots of private libraries are coming up in the state, especially in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot and the trend is positive for business proposition. |

When asked about future plans, Jain said, "We are also working on radio frequency identification tags (RFID) -an anti-theft system for libraries. If someone tries to steal books, a buzzer sound will alert the librarian. It is the same kind as those used in megamarts and hypermarkets," adding, "We are also working on different projects like online searches for audio-video materials in libraries, which are essential for an e-library or virtual library." |
