HCL Infosystems plans to raise Rs 825 cr via securities

IT firm HCL Infosystems today said its is planning to raise Rs 825 crore through the issue of securities, including shares and warrants, in the global or domestic markets.

The company would raise Rs 500 crore through the issue of securities in domestic or international markets, while another Rs 325 crore will be raised through the allotment of warrants to the company's promoters, HCL Infosystems said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The company's board has approved the fund raising programme and the company would seek shareholders' approval during an extra-ordinary general meeting, which is scheduled on September 23, it said.

The various means of securities for raising Rs 500 crore in the domestic or global markets include equity shares, American depository receipts, global depository receipts, foreign currency convertible bonds and bonds with share warrants attached, the company said.

Shares of HCL Infosystems closed at Rs 132.50, down 1.08 per cent from its previous close on the BSE.
