HCL Technologies today announced an agreement to join Power.org, the movement for accelerating collaborative innovation on the Power microprocessor technology.According to a release issued by HCL Technologies to the BSE today, "Power.org is dedicated to promoting the IBM Power Architecture as the preferred, open-standard hardware development platform for the electronic systems for consumer electronics, networking storage, military and automotive markets."The Power.org partnership will enable the company to closely align its design methodologies and IP with the needs of system-on-chip (SoC) designs based on the Power Architecture, and provide more extensive design services to customers desiring solutions based on the Power Architecture, the release added.Shiv Nadar, Chairman & CEO of HCL Technologies, said: "We consider it a great privilege to be working in collaboration with IBM and the members of Power.org in shaping and impacting the future of Power Architecture. The movement will allow us to dynamically influence this architecture and shorten our time-to-market with our design offerings and enhancements for various platforms."
