Noida-based IT services firm HCL has been selected by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) to design, develop, implement and support an integrated management information system (MIS) to automate business processes in its various departments, a HCL release said here on Friday. |
The MIS will reduce paper work by 80 per cent and improve turnaround time on many of its projects, the release said. |
M N Vidyashankar, BDA commissioner, said, "HCL was chosen as the preferred bidder after a thorough technical evaluation of the bids, out of a number of offers received from world class players in the field." |
Bejoy George, a general manager at HCL, heading "Strategic Initiatives", said, "HCL has proposed a 'workflow'-based solution approach, (automatic flow of documents from one-stage-to-another based on certain guidelines defined by BDA), which gave us an edge over the other contenders for this prestigious project." |
The project involves interfacing with BDA's existing IT infrastructure for various applications. These include applications to manage an online complaint management, an interactive voice response, a geographical information system and an e-Kiosk, George said. |
"We are proud and honoured that we have been chosen for the project by BDA, which has given us the opportunity to provide IT services which will benefit not only the BDA employees, but also the citizens of The Silicon Valley of India who have long supported the local IT industry, including the over 4,000-strong HCL family in Bangalore." |
Last year, HCL, which sells both computer hardware and IT services, earned $2 billion in revenues. |
