Hurix Systems, a knowledge based solutions provider focused on content generation is planning to expand its operations in India by doubling its headcount from 150 to over 300 by the end of this year. |
Most of this headcount expansion is slated to be in Chennai, where as part of its overall expansion in India it has opened a 10,000 sq ft office. |

Hurix Systems currently employs about 100 at its Mumbai office while the rest of the personnel are employed in Chennai. Its existing staff in Chennai will be accommodated at the newly rented facility into which it has pumped in close to Rs 1 crore. |

"Our main office is Mumbai while Chennai is a small operation. We were internally debating as to which city will be our next growth driver. Mumbai, Chennai, Pune and Kolkata were evaluated, in the next couple of years. The biggest growth will come from Chennai," said Subrat Mohanty, CEO, Hurix Systems. The new Chennai facility will have a seating capacity for 200 individuals. |

Mohanty also pointed out that compared to Mumbai, Chennai scored higher in all parameters including productivity, attrition and attitude of employees. Besides the Chennai office, Hurix is also planning to grow its international operations by setting up delivery centres in Chicago in the next few months and in the West Coast (US) and London in 2006. |

In Chennai, they will serve their global and domestic clientele that number 50 at present. Hurix Systems plans to hire engineers, graphic artists, writers and visual artists for it Chennai operations. |

"Hurix practice areas are publishing, education, technologies and learning while the integrating factor is content. It is built around a content need of a client," added Mohanty. |
