Information Technology major IBM today launched a new infrastructure service model targeting Small and Medium Businesses (SMB) in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.

Under this model, it will appoint channel partners all over India to sell IBM’s infrastructure services to clients in areas of Green IT, security, business continuity, improved collaboration and communication.

IBM today appointed channel partners in Lucknow and Kanpur to service such clients.

This model has already been tested and put in action as a pilot project on an ‘ongoing basis.’ IBM Vice-President (strategy & business development) South Asia Sanjiv Pande told Business Standard, “We have initially identified three places, Lucknow-Kanpur, Vizag and Jaipur for this model.”

Almost 60 per cent of IBM business in the country comes from SMB segment.
