Infopark Kochi has invited applications from IT/ITeS companies and infrastructure developers offering office premises and land in the newly developed Special Economic Zone IT campus at Cherthala near here.
Out of the 66 acres of land, six plots of five acres each are earmarked for IT/ITeS companies and IT infrastructure developers and nine acres for commercial applications on long-term lease.
Chief minister VS Achuthanandan had inaugurated Cherthala Infopark’s Phase-I with an area of 100,000 sft out of a total area of 240,000 sft. The remaining 140,000 sft of the IT building will be functional from September 2011. The first phase premises will accommodate around 1,000 to 1,400 IT professionals.
That a Tier-III location like Cherthala, close to a metro city like Kochi, is offering office space at low rent may reduce the operational cost of the companies, said Binu Pazhoor, CEO, Infopark.
The chief minister had also laid the foundation stone for building a working women’s hostel and daycare centre at the event. These two will have accommodation facilities for 300 working women with 171 rooms in a built up area of 55,000 sft.
