InfoPrint Solutions, a joint venture between IBM and Ricoh, today announced its alliance with print service bureau Samanthu Business Forms for deploying its printers to telecom firms in South India.
Samanthu has acquired InfoPrint's 4100 MD1 and MD2 printers and will deploy the InfoPrint 4100 to service the telecom, government and global logistics clients at its Bangalore headquarters.
The 4100, with a print capability of 718 pages A 4 per minute, would enable Samanthu to meet requirements for superior quality catalogues, brochures, books and high-value statements for clients.
"This agreement with Samanthu gives InfoPrint an opportunity to showcase its highly cost effective printing capabilities for direct customer marketing companies in the telecommunication and logistic space in south India," said Rohan Vaidya, Country General Manager, India/South Asia Infoprint Solutions Company.
InfoPrint Solutions provides a range of printers and related software and services for enterprises.
The JV between Ricoh and IBM agreement was closed in June one 2007. Ricoh initially acquired 51 percent of the joint venture and will progressively acquire the remaining 49 per cent over the next three years as the joint venture evolves into a fully owned subsidiary of Ricoh.
