India's second largest IT services provider, Infosys Technologies, does not see any slowdown in its hiring pattern next fiscal despite indications of economic recession in the US. |
The company's net headcount stood at 88,601 towards the end of the third quarter of the current fiscal. It had announced that 18,000 job offers in about 1,000 colleges across the country were made for the next fiscal to take the total headcount to over 100,000. |

"We will continue to hire as usual. We are not seeing any slowdown. We are on track in our hiring," T V Mohandas Pai, Director (Human Resources, Education & Research), Infosys Technologies, told reporters on Wednesday. |
During the third quarter of this fiscal, the company had added 11,683 employees. The attrition level had dropped to 13.7 per cent during the recent quarter from 14.2 per cent in the previous quarter (Q2). |
Commenting on the recent lay-off in other IT companies, Pai said Indian IT companies would continue to hire. |
"By the end of the current fiscal, the professionals in the IT industry would cross 2 million. Companies will hire next fiscal also," he added. |
Pai said Infosys would continue to monitor the performance of the employees. |
"Our involuntary attrition rate is 1.2 per cent of the overall employee base. These are people, who have failed to meet our expectations or pass certain tests. That is an ongoing process," he pointed out. |
