Infosys will hire 25,000 employees this year to raise the total headcount close to 78,000, and look for developing human resources in newer geographies including China."Presently, we are around 52,700 employees. We will be adding around 25,000 this year," Infosys HR chief Mohandas Pai said today.The firm is also eyeing China to evolve as an HR source from where it plans to tap around 800-1,000 employees this year."We have around 500 employees in China. We are hiring around100 students in our under-graduate programme. We will be raising this figure to 1,000 this year," Pai said."Shortage of manpower is definitely a factor we are concerned with. We are looking at increasing our local hiring at various geographies where we are present," Pai added.The company recently announced plans to hire 300 under-graduates in the US of which 100 would be joining in July. It will also hire 25 UK-based staff on an experimental basis, he said.
