Infotech Enterprises Limited, a technology solutions provider offering engineering and geographic information services, on Wednesday entered into an MoU with the Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H).
Under the MoU, students of IIT-H would gain industrial exposure, internships, industrial visits and can get engaged in live projects at Infotech. The company, which has 16 PhDs on its rolls, will also nominate its experts as adjunct faculty at the IIT-H campus. It will also enable Infotech to undertake joint R&D and consultancy projects.
Infotech chairman and managing director BVR Mohan Reddy said they were in talks with IIT-H for re-skilling Infotech’s engineers.
“We employ 9,000 engineers, of which only 15-18 per cent have a Master’s degree. Under the MoU, IIT-H will provide a scheme wherein these staff can get an advanced degree,” he added.
IIT-H director, UB Desai said the institute was going to take 150 students for BTech and 40-45 for the MTech programme next year.
