The memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Intel Technology India Private Ltd,Bangalore, was signed by the commissioner and director-general, school education, Haryana, K K Khandelwal and the managing director, sales and marketing (South Asia), Intel Technology India Private Ltd, R K Amar Babu, in the presence of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, in Chandigarh today. |

The programme also includes sustained professional development of teachers for information and communication technology integration in Government schools in the State through face-to-face training and also by using State Edusat network and post training implementation support. |

Worldwide Intel has trained over 3 million teachers and in India 5.3 Leah teachers successfully completed this professional development training program since the past 5 years. Speaking to business Standard Babu said," |

In the next three years we are going to train 5.5 lakh teachers in India." Haryana is the 14th state with whom Intel has partnered with in India . Acknowledging that the company has plans to expand in Himachal Pradesh Babu said that the proposal has been sanctioned and work shall start in a month's time. "We are also in talks with the eastern states of India," he added. |

As per the MoU, the training programme workshops would be held in those schools or District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) or State Council of Education, Research and Training, Gurgaon, where computer labs are available. |

The trainers of Intel would conduct training and provide curriculum for both the Master Trainer (MT) and Master Trainer to Participant Trainer (MTPT). For broadcast through the Edusat network, Intel would develop and record the broadcast content for the training programme by June 1, 2006. |

Independent education modules (Subject wise for senior secondary level) would be developed by Intel in consultation with Commissioner and Director General, School Education, Haryana. It would commence from September 1, 2006. The State Government would have perpetual right to use the broadcast content development by Intel, free of cost for broadcast through Edusat. |

The Intel would also develop independent subjectwise education modules for broadcast through Edusat infrastructure available with State Government and also conduct training programmes for about 100 or more subject specialists regarding use of technology or multimedia for the broadcast lessons to be developed. |
