IT services provider L&T Infotech today said it has won two major turn key projects for computerising the maintenance of rolling assets of the Indian Railways.
L&T Infotech will deploy its enterprise resource planning software and underlying hardware for automating the maintenance of the two major rolling assets of the railways wagon fleet and diesel locomotives, a statement said.
"These breakthrough System Integration projects reaffirm L&T Infotech’s position of supremacy when it comes to the execution of large complex projects,” L&T Infotech chief Executive Officer Sudip Banerjee said.
The projects include installation, commissioning and implementation of a multi-year on-going support of hardware and systems.
The end-to-end System Integration (SI) projects were conceptualised and tendered by Centre for Railway Information System (CRIS), an IT arm of Indian Railways.
The execution of these projects will involve creation of two centralised ERP-based applications.
L&T Infotech is an IT arm of engineering and procurement major, Larsen & Toubro.
