LG Electronics India Limited (LEGIL) launched their flagship phone, G5 on Wednesday. Priced at Rs 52,990, the first ever modular smartphone from LG, comes with a sleek metal uni-body featuring a slide out battery, accompanied with LG friends, a collection of companion devices such as LG CAM Plus, LG 360 CAM and LG 360 VR.
Speaking on this occasion, Kim Ki Wan, managing director, LG Electronics India, said: "We are really proud to bring the LG G5 to India. With this smart phone, we are living up to our promise of innovation. With G5 we have come up with a very unique concept of modular smart phone. We hope this phone will amaze the users with its ability to be transformed into multiple devices like digital camera, Hi-Fi player and much more."
The LG G5 surpasses the visual experience of its predecessor, LG G4. The newly launched G5 boasts the energy-efficient Snapdragon 820 processor which in comparison with its previous generation offers double the speed and power saving.
Also,reflecting LG's reputation in smartphones cameras, G5 has two cameras on the rear- one with a standard 78-degree lens and another with a 135-degree wide angle lens, which offers a viewing angle of approximately 1.7 times wider than any smartphone camera.
G5 will be exclusively available on Flipkart. Commenting on the pre-booking response, Ajay Yadav, vp-smartphones, Flipkart said: "The reaction has been great so far, and we expect the product will be a hit among our customers."
Speaking of the competition, G5 has to face Samsung's Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. Also, LG's G4 can make the game difficult for its new rival.
