Globally, Logica caters to companies in five different verticals including telecom and media, public sector, financial services, distribution and transport and energy and utilities.
The company has implemented real time gross settlement (RTGS) systems for a few banks in India including the Reserve Bank of India, Bank of Boroda and ABN Amro. The company is now planning to chase significant deals in India in the other four verticals where it has global expertise.
"Our revenue from India is a very small part of our global revenue. We are chasing significant deals in the Indian market, especially in areas where we have expertise in Europe," said Abhay Gupte, CEO India, Logica. He said some of the areas that the company would like to provide services to Indian firms include hydro carbon accounting, telecom and oil and gas.
Logica has over 3,000 people located in India in its delivery centre in Bangalore. Besides, the company is coming up with its second campus in Chennai which will house 1,500 people and capable of accommodating 3,000 people.
The centre will work in areas such as application development, infrastructure management and business process outsourcing.

The company plans to double its headcount in India to 6,000 by the end of 2009. Apart from India, the company has delivery centres in Philippines, Morocco, Czech Republic apart from The Netherlands.
As a part of its global delivery model, the Indian centre primarily serve the European customers. Gupte said owing to its European origin, the company was expecting to drive good number of works to India even though the norms in many European countries forbids companies to maintain a high amount of data security and privacy.
"Outsourcing from Europe has started to pick up now. The major deals that has been announced during the last six months were largely European. This is a good indicator of where the industry is moving now," said G B S Bindra, Global Innovation Director, Logica.
