MetricStream to invest Rs 45 cr on expansion

MetricStream, Inc., a US-based company offering solutions to manage processes, regulatory and industry-mandated compliance and corporate governance initiatives, has announced plans to invest Rs 45 crore in Bangalore to expand its operations.

The company has set up a new and larger state-of-the-art facility in Bangalore with a capacity for 150 developers.

This facility, which will be the India corporate office as well as the development centre, will support MetricStream's rapid growth in India. The entire key product and application development for MetricStream's global customers will be housed in the facility.

Announcing the inauguration of the facility, Gaurav Kapoor, CFO, MetricStream Inc, said: "MetricStream India is on a high growth path. Our Bangalore centre commenced operations in 2001 with a headcount of 10, which has now risen to over 60. This is expected to double in 2005. The new facility further strengthens our commitment to India and the importance of the India centre for MetricStream globally."

"Our India operations is core to our success. MetricStream has been investing steadily in India and expects to further invest at least $10 million over the next three years in building infrastructure, manpower and leadership across all functions," added Gaurav Kapoor.

According to the company, MetricStream India is the base for such key functions as customer support. professional services, quality assurance and sales support. Additionally, the company has shifted and now handles its global sales and marketing operations from its Bangalore office.

Recently, MetricStream had announced the launch of its 'Quality & Compliance Application' product suite "� the MetricStream 3.5.

This set of solutions automates quality and compliance processes through various modules including document management, corrective and preventive action, audit management, equipment management, non-conformance management, training management, variance & OOS, change control, inspection management, complaints, cost recovery and corporate governance.

The offering will enable its customers to improve their ability to support corporate governance and operational compliance requirements by allowing all casual users to easily interact with the system via e-mail and by facilitating off-line quality and compliance management functions.

The Bangalore-based operations have successfully implemented the MetricStream solution at customer locations globally.
