Mumbai-based Micro Technologies India Limited, which received an international patent for its super security solution for vehicles, Vehicle Black Box (VBB) nine months ago, launched another product on similar lines for home security called Home Security System (HSS) here on Friday. |
Both the technologies offer a security system, one-of-its-kind that alerts the customer with an SMS on his mobile as soon as it detects an intrusion. Micro has tied up with Sparten, a marketing firm into auto-related and construction products, for distribution of its products in Andhra Pradesh. |

Addressing mediapersons at the product launch, Vijay S Merchant, vice-president (marketing), said that the security system developed by Micro offers a smart cover over a cell phone and with a global access. The company has tied-up with Airtel as its message service provider. |

"The cost of a single unit comes to about Rs 16,500 with additional payment to the message service provider, a one-time activation fee of Rs 249 and a monthly rental of Rs 99," said Ashish Bhogate, marketing executive, Micro Technologies India Limited. |

Micro Technologies recorded an annual turnover of Rs 27 crore last fiscal and targets Rs 70 crore this fiscal. "Our Mumbai plant currently produces about 1,000 pieces a month and we plan to raise it to 6,000 pieces a month," said Merchant. |

"We also have an office in the US and have exported our products to Nigeria, Tanzania, Indonesia and Dubai," he added. |

Micro Technologies, established in 1992, has developed a wide range of products for the security, messaging and wireless industries totalling about 80 products till date. |
