Micromax Canvas Spark was launched today to bridge the gap between masses who can't afford high quality Android devices and the tech-elite class which have the latest in Android technology.
Vineet Taneja, chief executive officer, Micromax Informatics Ltd commented how the masses are upgrading to smartphones but there is a dearth of good Android devices under Rs. 5,000. Hence, the decision to launch Canvas Spark.
The device comes packed with a 4.7-inch qHD screen, 1.3 GHz quad core processor, an 8 MP primary and a 2 MP secondary camera along with a 2,000 mAh battery. Besides that, the device runs on Android Lollpop. All this comes for a low price of Rs. 4,999 which is also the USP of the phone. By keeping the specifications more than average and the price low, Micromax intends to capture the attention and interest of the consumers.
The device intends to give stiff competition to budget phone manufacturers.
Vineet Taneja also hinted at the probable launch of 4G devices in the coming months.
