Motorola India is expecting its wireless voice and data services business, which come under its public safety division, to grow at a rapid pace this calendar year, on the back of new e-governance projects and solutions for verticals. |
Motorola started its voice and data services in India in 2006 and has grown 70 per cent year-on-year. Its public safety division currently contributes close to $30 million (around Rs 120 crore) to Motorola's overall $1 billion (around Rs 4,000 crore) India revenues. |

The government and telecom sectors make up for 75 per cent of its revenues. Police and railways are its largest verticals right now under the government sector. |

Motorola is also expecting a 30 per cent growth in its enterprise business this year that include fixed, Wi-Fi and Wimax solutions for various educational institutes, hospitals and IT companies. |

"Manipal University already uses Motorola's Wi-Fi services for its campus. IIT-Delhi will soon be Wi-Fi-connected for wireless coverage using Motorola solutions," a company official told Business Standard on the sidelines of Infocom 2008 in Kolkata. |
