Riding on the fast-growing mobile telephony, US-based cellphone major Motorola today announced the launch of three mid-to-high segment mobile phones targeting youth with music-rich features and profesionals with Wi-Fi-enabled handsets.
Last year, Motorola had flooded the market with its popular Yuva series for the first time user and low-segment consumers.
All the new phones -- MOTOROKR EM35, MOTO VE66 and MOTOSURF A300 -- are being launched during the first quarter of this year, Motorola Mobile Devices Head of India Operations Faisal Siddiqui said here.
The company has not announced the price range but the sources indicate that all the phones would be in the range of Rs 15,000-Rs 20,000 and would be available in the market in next few weeks.
India is adding more than eight million new mobile subscribers every month and is the second fastest growing market in the world. Most of the telecom companies be it service provider, equipment suppliers or device (mobile handset) majors, have leveraged from the Indian market.
At a time when their revenues are shrinking in the rest of the world, the Indian telecom market has offered huge market to these telecom companies.
