Munjals to foray into UK

Munjal eSystems (MeS), a leading provider of software business solutions and part of the Rs 14,000-crore Hero Group, has joined hands with Watermark UK, a leading European provider of enterprise resource planning (ERP), to provide Microsoft Dynamics Navision, the next generation ERP solution, to the UK market.
 
Through this synergy, these two companies, which are the leaders in their respective areas of operation, would offer solutions that are out-of-the-box, ready-to-be-deployed and customised for the UK's small and medium business (SMB) market.
 
According to the agreement, MeS will provide pre-sales, marketing, implementation and post-sales support for Microsoft Dynamics Navision to the UK customers of Watermark UK, which is a market leader in Europe's ERP industry.
 
The partnership will also enable Watermark UK to access MeS' enormous technology and domain expertise of successfully implementing over 40 installations across India in the SMB segment. MeS has a strong track record of delivering business results through Microsoft Dynamics solutions.
 
According to Shefali Munjal, deputy chief executive, Munjal eSystems, "This partnership will allow us to address the emerging ERP needs of the SMB segment in the UK more effectively, as partnership will enable Watermark UK to service the Navision product through MeS expertise. Globally these companies today are looking for solutions that can enable them to differentiate themselves and effectively manage their resources.
 
"General ledger, purchase and payables, sales and receivables, inventory, fixed assets, export import, and workflow management are areas that enable Navision to provide significant value to its customers. The Microsoft-Watermark-MeS solution based on Navision provides SMBs in the UK an opportunity to leverage this business opportunity with a solution that is the best functionally and technologically."
 
Shefali told Business Standard Munjal e Systems had a cutting edge in developing software for auto manufacturers and ancillaries.
 
The auto companies in the UK, which according to her was in an expansion mode and the synergy with a UK-based company would enable them to explore the market in a fruitful manner.
 
By sharing their resources, the two companies plan to double their revenues in the next five years.
 
"We will double our workforce in India to cater to the expansion of our business in Europe. We have 80 consultants and will add another 80 in the next two years," said Shefali.
 
Shefali also said, "MeS has leveraged its partnership with Microsoft and expertise in Microsoft Dynamics Navision platform to successfully provide implementation and support services to various companies in the Indian automotive and discreet manufacturing segment. We, through our partnership with Watermark UK, will not only be able to extend our domain expertise to the UK market but will also bring the best practices of the UK market to India. Watermark has a large market share in the ERP SMB sector in the UK and we expect to notch a similar share through Navision product."
 
She added, "This is the first step of MeS's organic growth strategy. The UK's SMB market is a huge potential for both the companies and I believe this will contribute towards us gaining a strong foothold in this market."
