The Delhi Development Authority (DDA), planning to set up an information technology (IT) park, has approached the National Association for Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) to prepare a concept paper. |
"Talks are at a preliminary stage and nothing has been finalised, but we expect Nasscom to give us the viability report of the park and suggest ideal locations in Delhi," said vice-chairman of DDA Madhukar Gupta, at an interactive session organised at the PHD Chambers of Commerce and Industry ( PHDCCI). |
He said the DDA would be ready with the draft of MasterPlan 2021 for Delhi by October this year. "We expect to finalise it by the next fiscal and invite specific suggestions to improve planning in Delhi," he said. The PHDCCI president R K Wig had earlier expressed concerned over delays in bringing out the plan. |
Gupta said re-development along 70 kms of the metro corridor available by 2005 would also be considered. |
He said the new masterplan would examine previous masterplans and list possible ways of overcoming shortfalls in achieving targets. |
He said it would also look into the problem of unauthorised colonies in Delhi, while adding that the option of regularisation of unauthorised land could also be explored. |
Gupta said land reforms would also be a part of the agenda, and a hybrid land policy would be evolved, allowing land to be used for both commercial and residential purposes. |
The masterplan would also consider issues like easy transfer of development rights and private participation in housing. |
