With clouds of economic slowdown fading, the Indian IT industry will meet in February to discuss about new challenges like protectionism and opportunities that have emerged post recession.

With the theme of 'Drivers of the Decade', the 19th edition of the Nasscom India Leadership Forum (NILF) will be held in Mumbai from February 8-10, 2011.

"At the beginning of a new decade, we as an industry need to look at the new challenges that have come up post recession. There are issues like protectionism, competition from other emerging destinations and skilled labour that needs to be discussed," Nasscom Senior Vice-President Sangeeta Gupta told PTI.

New opportunities have also emerged post the slowdown like increased demand for transformational deals rather than plain-vanilla services where Indian IT firms can show their expertise, she added.

The event would focus on topics like customer demands, innovation, new technology, talent, trade rebalancing, social networking and inclusive growth.

Over 1,500 delegates from across 34 countries would be present at the event.

"The event presents a great opportunity for the industry to interact, discuss these issues and work together to further drive the USD 70 billion Indian IT industry," Gupta said.
