NetApp, a US- based storage and data management solutions provider, is looking at adding around 250 midsize enterprise (MSE) customers to its existing 600-odd MSE clientele base in India in the next 12 months, said Surajit Sen, director (channels, marketing and alliances), NetApp India.
A majority of midsize businesses run legacy versions of Microsoft applications. They have to do a refresh and that will have a storage drag to run newer storage applications. And, 34 per cent of them are planning to do that over the next 12 months. This, for NetApp, is a lucrative market, he told mediapersons here on Friday.
NetApp has added 127 customers in India in FY11. More than 10,000 midsize businesses choose the company each year. “Of this, around 6,500 customers, which we acquired globally in the last 48 months, fall in the MSE category. We have been very successful in this market .... not by design but it happened,” Sen said.
