The directors of the nine National Institutes of Technology (NIT) located at Allahabad, Bhopal, Kozhikode, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Rourkela, Surathkal, Tiruchirapalli and Warangal met at NIT, Warangal for two days recently. These NITs offer master of computer applications (MCA) programme. |
The heads of the nine NITs have hence decided to hold an All India Common Entrance Examination (NIMCET-05) for admission to the MCA programme offered at the NITs. |

This year, the NIMCET-'05 will be coordinated by NIT, Tiruchirapalli. The test will be conducted on May 28 at 21 centres across India. |

The test will be for a duration of three hours and will consist of 180 objective type questions on "" mathematics, analytical ability, logical reasoning and computer awareness. |

The examination fee is Rs 300 for open category and Rs 150 for SC/ST categories. Detailed syllabus for the test, eligibility criteria and other details will be made available on the websites of the above NITs. Last date for receipt of filled-in applications is April 30. |
