Persistent's net up 3.8%

Persistent Systems, outsourced software product development services firm, reported a 3.8 per cent rise in its net profit at Rs 35.83 crore for the second quarter ended 30 September, 2010 as compared to Rs 34.52 crore in the same period last year. "Revenues were up by 3.3 per cent at Rs 187 crore as against to Rs 181.10 crore last fiscal," the company said in a filing a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

Commenting on the second quarter results, Anand Deshpande, chairman and managing director, Persistent Systems, said, "We are constantly pushing for innovation in the market. The market response to our strategy in the four thrust areas, cloud computing, analytics, collaboration and mobility has been very encouraging. We believe these domains are significant business areas for us and the response from our customers towards this aptly justifies it."
