Punjab-based educational institute Rayat-Bahra Group has signed a memorandum of understanding with IBM India and its training partner Karrox Technologies Ltd to set up a centre of excellence in Punjab.
Talking to mediapersons, Gurvinder Singh Bahra, vice-chairman, Rayat-Bahra group, said the CoE would come up on over 25 acres on the Rajpura-Delhi road next year. It would offer specialised training to students on IBM technologies under the IBM career education in IBM software (CEIS) program.
Under the CEIS program, students would be trained by Karrox on the five IBM software brands — Tivoli, DB2, Lotus, Web Sphere and Rational. The training would focus on enhancing their soft-skills.
The group is also looking at more industry-academia tie ups in other fields including engineering and management. It is in the process of signing an MoU with a regional stock exchange to offer a course in security market.
