In order to grab a large share in the entry-level market, Reliance Infocomm has forayed into the sub-Rs 100 segment with a post-paid plan that will enable subscribers to go mobile for just Rs 149. |
The company is eyeing the growing mobile segment, particularly the sub-Rs 100 market that account for almost 50 per cent of the industry's average monthly post-paid net additions of 400,000. |
The new plan, NJ99, includes a monthly rental of Rs 99 and caller line identification presentation and a plan charge of Rs 24 each as applicable on all post-paid plans offered by the company. |
Besides, the plan also offers a low intra-circle tariff of Rs 1.50 for calls to all Reliance phones and Rs 2.20 for calls to other networks. |
Inder Bajaj, head-post-paid business, Reliance Infocomm, stated in a press release that: "The NJ99 plan is among the country's cheapest and best plans to go mobile with an aggressive entry cost and low monthly commitment. It will help us garner a large share of the entry-level market." |
Subscribers can also choose from the 26 Reliance handsets starting from Rs 2,499 for black and white and Rs 4,999 for colour, the release added. |
Since most Reliance handsets double up as modems, subscribers in this segment can also log on to the Internet via the R-connect facility at the prevailing tariffs, the release said. Moreover, they can also get access to R World. |
