Samsung Mobiles today launched a five-inch screen smartphone from its Galaxy stable, named Galaxy Grand priced at Rs 21,500 apiece. The phone will hit retail stores next week.
The dual-SIM smartphone is powered by Android jellybean operating system, and runs on 1.2 Ghz dual core processor. “There is a consumer need for large screens,” said Asim Warsi, vice-president, Samsung Mobile.
Warsi added that Galaxy Grand has some of the best features of Galaxy S3 and Note 2 like smart stay where the phone can sense that a person is reading from it, and stops the light from going off. This also has smart alerts, direct calling features. “It also supports multi window feature," he said.
Like Nokia, Samsung also offers services with it called 2,000 movies and around three lakh songs with the handset. The phone is also bundled with Vodafone service wherein a consumer can receive 2 GB data free for two months.
