The embedded telecom software solutions provider, Sasken Communication Technologies, has addressed a key concern of outsourcing clients by being certified to the BS7799 standard, according to a company release.

Sasken is the first Indian organisation in the telecom software sector to have acquired the certification for all its facilities as well as its subsidiaries. These include the three development centres in Bangalore, one in Pune and its Bangalore-based subsidiaries.

"The requirements of the new century businesses are beyond the traditional processes. Modern day apprehensions demands quality service, but the underlying priority is the environment in which we provide the service. The BS 7799 certifies our ability to ensure that secure environment for our clients," said Prabhas Kumar, COO, Sasken.

This certification assures Sasken's customers and partners of information and data protection through controlled procedures, policies and best practices.

Sasken completed the BS 7799 certification through an intensive security audit conducted in-house by the 'security implementation team', directly under the aegis of the British Standards Institute.

British Standard (BS) 7799 is a comprehensive specification that defines the requirements for establishing, implementing and documenting an effective information security management system.

Sasken deploys proven policies, procedures, standards and records to implement and maintain a world-class information security management system.

This BS7799 certification further improves upon Sasken's position as the leader in quality among telecom software providers worldwide.

"Security concerns have always been a priority with us and the certification proves Sasken's commitment to safeguarding the confidentiality, reliability and availability of customer's critical information," added K S G Shankar, vice president of Sasken's Quality and Operations Division.
