Satyam enables SK C&C unit get e-sourcing certification

Software service provider Satyam Computer Services Limited on Wednesday announced that it has successfully enabled the infrastructure business division of SK C&C, in South Korea, to be certified at eSourcing Capability Model (eSCM), capability level 3.
 
The infrastructure business unit of SK C&C, which provides data centre services in the fields of mainframe, server and network services, has been certified under the model.
 
The eSCM provides guidance to IT-enabled sourcing service (ITeS) providers, which includes BPO and IT service providers, to improve their capability to deliver high-quality services consistently.
 
The eSCM model and its evaluation methods enable service providers to establish, manage, and continually improve sourcing relationships with clients Prabhuu Sinha, senior vice-president and global head (quality solutions), Satyam Computer Services, presented the certificate of eSCM - SP Level 3, on behalf of the Carnegie Mellon University, to Kil Sub Lee, vice-president (infra biz division), SK C&C, in Seoul.
 
Satyam, as a founding partner of the consortium, has supported Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh USA, to develop the e-sourcing capability model. Other members of the consortium at Carnegie Mellon include Accenture, IBM Global Services, EDS and STQC, Government of India.
 
SK C&C adopted eSCM as an integral part of the plan to support the achievement of its long-term vision of 'Better Division Image 2006'. As a part of this plan, Infra Business Division aims to become the Top Infra Service Company amongst the existing domestic competition.
 
SK C&C has implemented eSCM to reap benefits such as productivity enhancement through the streamlining of all the organisational activities and achieve a higher level of customer satisfaction. This will contribute positively towards SKC&C Infra Business' financial goals for revenue and contributed profit ratio.
