Scandent opens PLM innovation centre

Scandent Solutions has announced the launch of its product lifecycle management (PLM) innovation centre in Bangalore. The centre will offer a range of PLM solutions and services to the automotive, hi-tech and consumer packaged goods sectors, the company informed.
 
"The PLM innovation centre is an extended facility for our customers and is a commitment to our client base," said Ramachandran K, head of the PLM, Scandent.
 
The global market for PLM software and services is expected to grow by a compound annual growth rate of almost 10 per cent through 2007 to more than $12.4 billion, according to Daratech, an independent research firm.
 
According to the company, the facility will serve as a knowledge repository of learning gleaned from Scandent's worldwide customer engagements and new innovative frameworks developed through these engagements.
 
He said Scandent's creation of a PLM innovation centre (PIC) was a significant milestone in moving the company's services higher up on the value chain.
 
More than 150 PLM consultants from Scandent are currently engaged in supporting leading customers in the automotive and manufacturing industry.
