Sierra Atlantic to hire 2000 more in 2 years

Fremont, California-based Sierra Atlantic, which offers solutions that help companies better realise value from enterprise-wide business applications expects to add close to 2,000 more people in India in the next two years.

The company also expects to add 15 customers this year for its software engineering services division. The software engineering services division acts as an 'engineer's engineer' and offers software development services to other software product companies.

Raju Reddy, founder and CEO of Sierra Atlantic, told Business Standard, that the company was growing faster than anticipated and that the 650-strong company would end the current year at being at about 1,000 employees. "We will recruit about 2,000 people in the next two years," Reddy said, adding that the company would spread wings to other known software destination in India, over the next couple of years.

Sierra, which has a strong research and development focus, expects to add about 15 customers for its software product engineering work. "This is an area where we can double the business and grow 100 per cent year-on-year," Reddy said. The company already has 15 customers for this service that it provides and according to Reddy, Sierra will add another 15 customers this year.

"Now it is time for us to consciously look at building a brand and become a Top Three global brand out of Hyderabad, apart from Dr Reddy's and Satyam Computer Services," Reddy said. The company, he said, had made considerable progress and emerged as a credible alternative against bigger players from the industry like TCS, Cognizant and Satyam.

Sierra has also in the recent past entered into relationships with global enterprise application product players which ensure that its solutions are bundled with MNC offerings in the enterprise space.

The company helps customers realise more value for their investments in enterprise business applications like ERP, CRM and SCM from leading vendors such as Agile, Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP and Siebel.

The company had in February this year announced that Clopay Corporation, Network Appliance, Cosi and HP had selected it to offer offshore lifecycle enterprise application management services.

The company had also announced that Plumtree, OuterBay Technologies, and Reactivity had selected it to spearhead key offshore software development initiatives.
