Silver Software, a privately-held firm specialising in software engineering related to aerospace, railway signalling and telecommunications, is looking for tie-ups with Europe and US-based companies to enter business domains like medical devices and automotive. |
The company, which operates through three development centres, in Bangalore, Spain and UK, employs 350 professionals. The software for the landing gear of Airbus A380 aircraft was developed by Silver Software with much of the work executed at its Bangalore centre. |

"Bangalore accounts for two-third of the staff and will continue to support the company's growth. We are looking for partners to enable the natural progression of the company into new domains. Both medical devices and automotive sectors are emerging growth areas for us," Silver Software CEO Parminder Singh said. |
At present, the company has partnerships with three different companies "" Avista in US (for avionics software development) and two others in England and Germany. "We already have sufficient exposure in aerospace related software development. We can back our partners in bidding for projects. We have sufficient human resources with tremendous technology background. This could be advantage for our prospective partners," said Singh. |
The partnership model is part of Silver Software's roadmap to reach $100 million revenue with 1,000 people in three-five years from now. Recently, the company expanded its Bangalore centre, which can now accommodate up to 700 professionals. |
The company is looking at growing markets like China for expansion. "China is an interesting market for us. We may set up a development centre provided there is sufficient business for us in that country. Our clients will drive our growth," Singh stated. |
