The Sony Xperia C4 is not an extraordinary but a decent phone, mainly because of its USP - the camera. The phone is essentially an upgrade of the Sony Xperia C3.

Sony has tweaked the design for the C4 by giving it curved edges. It has a plastic unibody with a non-removable back cover. It has two nanoSIM slots and a microSD card slot on its side.

The Xperia C4 runs on Android 5.0 and has a 1.75GHz octa core MediaTek MT6752 processor. It has 2 GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 128 GB. The 5.5-inch full HD display is impressive with a smooth touchscreen.

Though the camera is the main highlight of the phone, the 5-megapixel (MP) front camera doesn't impress much unless used with the front LED flash. I wouldn't call it a very good selfie phone, though it looks like Sony was aiming for the flashy selfie market. However, the 13MP rear camera is a different story altogether. The camera was able to maintain clarity even in low-light areas. The camera comprises many features but the "Super Auto" feature proves to be a dampener. In this mode, the colour outcome for the photographs is unpredictable and inconsistent. That said, using the manual mode explains why photography connoisseurs prefer Sony. The manual mode gives you a lot of independence and features to play with pictures.

The phone has a decent battery backup with a non-removable 2,600 mAh battery. But for an extensive web user or camera lover the performance is not quite outstanding.

Overall the Sony Xperia C4 is a mixed package. A good rear camera, reasonable performance and an impressive full HD display are all positives, but spending Rs 29,490 on a decent performer is stretching it a bit.
