With the advent of the Play Stations and the Xboxes mobile gaming took a backseat since the Nokia N Gage days. Although high priced phones like the Xperia Z, LG G2 and some Lumia models may have done well yet most of these phones stand in the up segment range. Spice’s Stellar 526 may just be the budget friendly answer for gaming lovers.

Moderately priced at Rs 10,999 Spice seeks to meet the demand for those crackling spotless resolution phones, which until now Lumia was mastering at with most of its models.

This is Spice’s first hexa-core smartphone clocked at 1.5 GHz and coupled with 1GB RAM. It sports a 5-inch HD 720p display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels .

The design is sturdy and sleek and manages to ward off the substandard plastic feel that most budget smartphone phones possess nowadays. White is a colour that has been in trend on the phone market and Spice sticks to that code well.

The highlight of the phone has to be its day-to-day performance. The phone manages to run super smooth with any amounts of multitasking windows at bay. Not much has been experimented with the user interface like most Android phones.

Most importantly for gamers this phone is joy ride as the HD resolution is excellent for graphics with vibrant colours, good touch response without any hassles of hang ups. The hexa-core processor seems to have given the performance of the phone an edge compared to other dual-core and quad-core processors.

The sound quality is quite good lends good ear to the video quality of the phone

Although the camera promotes itself to be 8 MP rear cam, it is strictly average. In fact it would be rather difficult to differentiate between the images taken by the 8 MP rear cam and 3.5 MP front cam if lighting conditions were conducive. It does have some helpful features with the object tracking and live photo modes though.

The dismal battery of this phone however can actually go on to feature on the list of worst smartphone batteries ever. Specifications may read out at 2500 mAh back up but even a full charge with limited usage may only last you a couple of hours not even half a day to be precise.

Discounting the horrible battery most of the features of the phone are quite impressive for the price. If you are a gaming enthusiast with a moderate budget to spare this phone is definitely for you, just be sure to keep the power bank handy.
