Swiss company Gudel, a worldwide leader in robotic technology and automation systems, is now planning to cater to the plastic and glass making industries in India. |
The company is planning to provide robotics technology to the two-wheeler industry and is in talks with Hero Honda and Bajaj Auto. |
Gudel India also plans to export robots produced at the Pune factory to Malaysia, Dubai and the Saarc countries. The company has designed and developed a specific low-cost robot for the Indian market. |
"We are ready with the specific product for the plastic industry and are planning to come out with our first robot by year end. The company has already received two orders from Asahi India and Goetz, Germany. We expect to complete the contracts in four months," said Sunil Raibagi, managing director, Gudel India. |
The company has established its first factory in the country for assembling and production of robots at Pirangut near Pune. The company has invested around $25 lakh on the unit. |
Further, Raibagi said the company is also getting contracts from companies such as Bharat Forge. The company has recently handled three projects for Bharat Forge, of which two have been completed, while the third one is in the final stage. It is also working on a contract worth $1.5 million from glass firm Saint Gobain, which is expected to be completed by May," said Raibagi. |
The company targets a $20 million turnover in three years, he added. |
But initial focus is on the domestic market. "We would be catering to the domestic market first and start exports in two years," said Raibagi. |
