Take Solutions, a technology enabled solutions firm, focusing on supply chain management (SCM) and life sciences, identifies retail and transporation verticals as next growth areas.

At present, the company is involved in offering BPO services for a big retail chain in the country, Sridharan Sivan, Managing Director, Take Solutions told Business Standard.

Take Solutions sees business potential in the family-managed businesses in retail segment. As long as there is only one branch or one location, the family-managed firms would be able to run the business.

But when they go for expansions, it would be difficult for them to manage multiple vendors in multiple locations by themselves. That is the area we see as potential market for our solutions, he said.

Sivan said that its R & D team was working on getting its products RFID-enabled as the company sees huge role for technology devices in the retail sector. If you get your products RFID-enabled, you will become more efficient, he added.

On collaboration for technology development, he said that the company wouldn't embed third party technology into its own products.

The company is also involved in managing the entire supply chain operations of a logistics company. Explaining its business model, Sridhar said that the company would initially start with BPO services and once it is able to gain experience and domain knowledge, it would expand to other areas.

Take Solutions expects SCM offerings to contribute about 40 per cent to its total revenue and other emerging services in the newer verticals would account for 20 per cent. About 40 per cent of the revenue is expected from life sciences sector. It expects to end this fiscal with a revenue of $20 million.

It spends about 7 per cent of its turnover on product development. The company has seven products in the SCM space. It currently employs around 400 plus and is likely to double the headcount in the next couple of years.

Headquartered in Singapore, the company has its SCM technology centre and global delivery centre in Chennai. The life sciences domain excellence centre is located in USA.

It has business development offices in three countries.
