Tata Tele services (TTSL) on Thursday affirmed that its customer base in Andhra Pradesh is slated to touch the one-million mark from the current six lakh by March 2005. These expectations have been supported by the company's Rs 445-crore expansion plans for 2004-05 in terms of increased coverage.

Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad on Thursday, Prabhat Pani, chief operating officer (Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka circles), TTSL, said that the company has already put in place the corridors ensuring continuous coverage on four major roadways in the state.

He said that the creation of the corridors, namely Hyderabad-Warangal, Hyderabad-Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada and Vijayawada-Tirupati, has marked Tata Indicom's rapid expansion of coverage in the state.

According to him, these four corridors stretch over 1,400 kilometres of continuous coverage.
