Having grabbed 40 per cent of the 7,84,802 new mobile subscribers in Delhi and the national capital region in the last three months, CDMA operator Tata Teleservices is now waiting government approval to roll out services in Jammu and Kashmir and the North East. Tata Tele currently operates in 20 circles.

In June, Tata added more than 1,03,269 subscribers from the Delhi and NCR zone to reach a subscriber base of 2,76,265 in the region.

This adds to up around 38 per cent of all new additions. In May and April it added 1,17,000 and 94,252 subscribers, which was 42.07 per cent and 40.90 per cent of the total user addition.

The company attributes the growth to better leveraging of its retail network, along with various billing plans and handsets it launched recently.

"We have been able to leverage our huge retail network with free incoming and lifetime validity plans. We also launched handsets for both the entry-level and high end users," Debashis Sur, circle operating officer, Delhi and NCR circle, said.
