Tata Teleservices, one of India's leading private telecom service providers, plans to touch a consumer base of 1 million by the end of this year. |
"At present, we have a subscriber base of 450,000 in the state and by the end of this year we plan to touch a figure of 1 million," Harsh Chandra, circle operating officer (Rajasthan) for Tata Teleservices, said. |
He said June was one of the best months for Tata because the subscriber base grew 27 per cent in the month. He added that out of a base of 450,000, around 80 per cent were prepaid subscribers. He claimed that Tata Teleservices Ltd had redefined the existing prepaid mobile market in India through unveiling the initiative "" "The Power of Choice". |
Customers now have an option to choose from any of the starter packs valued at Rs 99, Rs 499, Rs 999 and Rs 1,499 and combine them with a handset of their choice, he added. One of the latest additions to the range of handsets is the high-end Motorola RAZR V3c that offers superior technology at a reasonable cost to Tata Indicom consumers. |
Plans such as Go Active, Go Max, Go Easy etc, offered through the initiative, are targeted across segments, from price-sensitive customers to users of high-end phones such as Motorola RAZR V3c and Samsung Wideo. |
Chandra observed, "Power of Choice is a pioneering effort on the CDMA front, as customers now have the freedom to choose a handset from a wide and exciting range offered by Tata Indicom and couple it with the tariff plan they like. In fact, we have recently partnered with Motorola for their Moto RAZR V3c to offer our customers a stylish, sophisticated and feature-rich, high-end handset. This initiative offers a compelling value proposition to our consumers in terms of a hi-tech handset combined with quality service." |
He added that the company sought to offer the customer a wide and exciting range of handsets and to remove the misconception that CDMA posed a limit to the freedom of choice. The company offers integrated telecom solutions to its customers under the Tata Indicom brand, and uses the latest CDMA 3G1X technology for its wireless network. |
