Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), an IT services, consulting and business solutions firm has launched iON an integrated information technology solution for Small and Medium Business (SMB) in Pune today. The company will mainly focus on the sectors like manufacturing, education, health care, retail and hospitality. TCS targets a business of Rs 4500 crore for next five years and 2000 plus customers for iON across India. Over 150 customers have signed up for iON in Pune.
iON provides on-demand business solutions using cloud computing technology. It has been developed to deliver IT in the 3rd generation service model to SMBs. According to TCS, Using a pay-per-use business model, iON helps SMBs leverage world-class technology solutions as a key business differentiator. It removes the need for SMBs to invest in IT assets or retain scarce IT talent.
Commenting on this, V Ramaswamy, global Head, iON said, "In Maharashtra, particularly in Pune we are focusing on sectors like manufacturing, education, health care, retail and hospitality. We can see the maximum growth in education and manufacturing in Pune of 30 and 40 percent respectively. For the education it will be a per student per month basis and for manufacturing per unit per month basis. The charges will be different as per the sectors."
iON is already operational in states like Punjab, Amdhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and New Delhi.
