Leading telcos Bharti Airtel and Aircel will launch iPhone 4 in India soon.
In separate statements, both the companies said they would "launch iPhone 4 in India in the coming months".
US-based Apple Inc, the inventors of iPod, iPhones and iPads, will introduce the iPhone 4, which is equipped with a sharper screen and video-chat features as it attempts to ward-off competition from devices running Google's Android software.
Operators, however, have not commented on the exact timeline or the price tag of iPhone.
The iPhone 4 will have a 3.5 inch display with 640 X 960 pixel resolution, two cameras and a 5-megapixel camera with built-in LED flash.
With the launch of 3G services, telecom companies are betting big on smartphones. Airtel and Aircel are offering their 3G (high speed internet access) services across various cities in the country.
IPhone, the touch screen handset that acquired a cult status in the US and other western countries, was launched for the first time in India in 2008. Following the launch, the new upgrades have also been introduced in the Indian market.
