is back in the news. She unveiled her maiden art exhibition in Mumbai last month. Titled 'Faith,' the 56 works (priced between Rs 8,000 and Rs 50,000) exhibition has been curated by industrialist and collector Harsh Goenka. |
The one-film wonder (she played the female lead in Kundan Shah's Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na in 1993) claims that she discovered her painting talent by accident. Last September, the "visarjan" ceremony post Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations moved her to tears and drove her to paint 76 canvases in two weeks. In less than a year she's created 200 canvases and prefers acrylic as her medium. |
"I'm very prolific. I paint at least three paintings a day," says the young artist. The amateur painter who's also experimented with acrylic on wood and paper, charcoal and mixed media, is currently training under artist Anil Naik. |
Krishnamoorthi is also returning to acting with the musical Candlelight, to be staged later this year. Written and conceptualised by her, the musical will travel to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore. |
She is also acting in the Ram Gopal Varma film My Wife's Murder where she plays a middle-class housewife who distrusts her husband. Soon she will launch a book of poems written by her. |
Her future plans? "Nobody can predict the future. I take life as it is and am simply grateful for what I have. The theme of my exhibition is 'Faith'. If good opportunities come my way, I'll look into them," is her philosophical reply. |
